22 Years of Service Behind MRDC’s Everyday Success

When Hane Magaru joined MRDC in 2003, the company was a modest operation with just 30 staff and limited resources. Today, MRDC is a thriving organisation with over 138 employees, eight subsidiaries, and a growing investment portfolio, and Hane has been there every step of the way.
As Admin Support Officer, Hane plays a vital role in keeping MRDC’s operations running smoothly. Her work touches nearly every part of the office—from staff logistics and onboarding to supplies, claims, and coordination. She is the quiet force behind the scenes, ensuring that systems function, people are supported.
Her journey began as an Office Attendant, and over the years she progressed through roles including Receptionist, Front Desk Officer, and Admin Assistant. Each role added new layers to her experience and deepened her understanding of how to support both people and processes.
“Every day has its challenges,” she said. “I deal with different kinds of people who have different views on how things should be done. I’ve learned to be flexible, patient, and always ready to help.”
Today, Hane manages a wide range of responsibilities. She handles medical claim submissions, BSP Life and insurance proposals, and coordinates sensitive matters such as staff and director death claims with care and professionalism.
She also plays a key role in onboarding new staff, ensuring they receive the tools and information they need to start their journey at MRDC smoothly.
“I’ve always believed that small things matter. If someone needs help with a phone, a form, or even just directions, I want to be the person they can rely on.”
Her motivation comes from the joy of helping others and seeing the impact of her work.
“Serving others and seeing their happiness when you’ve helped them—that’s what drives me.”
Over the past two decades, Hane has witnessed MRDC’s transformation in size, systems, leadership, and culture. She’s proud to have contributed to that growth, helping build the foundation that supports the company’s day-to-day operations.
“From where it was to where it is now, MRDC has come a long way. I’ve seen many people come and go, but the future looks bright. With the current management team and new investments, MRDC is soaring higher.”
