MRDC staff take part in Cancer Awareness session

Staff from the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) this week participated in a Breast Cancer awareness session organized by the Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation (PNGCF).
This was part of the company’s recognition and participation in the annual Picktober month to make awareness on Breast Cancer, an illness affecting women globally.
Domestically, research suggests one (1) in 10 deaths in PNG are because of Cancer.
The session was led by Dr George Baki, from Glorious Medical Centre, a private healthcare provider.
The session covered topics related, symptoms, self-examination, causes of breast cancer, prevention and many insightful topics.
MRDC has a standing partnership with both the PNG Cancer Foundation and the Pacific International Hospital to ensure its employees have access to credible health information and services. Through this tripartite relationship, MRDC staff have benefited from ongoing awareness programs and health programs.
