Juha Pipeline Los to receive project benefits

The PDL7 Directors Election program was successfully launched yesterday in Hides, Hela Province.

A full state and stakeholder team was in Hides to show their support and acknowledge the leadership provided by the clan chairmen to finally see this day come to fruition after 12 years.

Among them Member for Komo-Magarima and Member assisting the Prime Minister, Manasseh Makiba was present to encourage the leaders to trust the process and let it flow smoothly.

“This is an election process I helped to set up during my time at MRDC as a lawyer.

I set the trust rules and regulations on how it runs, its a very fair and transparent process”. Makiba was part of MRDCs first election program under new trust rules, for the PNGLNG Plant Site, Gas Resources PNGLNG Plant Limited four years ago.

“There I told leaders like Chris Payape and Andy Hamaga who came to witness that program that the same would happen here and today it is happening.”

“This process will allow landowner issues to come through the right channels to be addressed through the leaders recognised by State, ExxonMobil, MRDC and DPE,” he said. Makiba, also encouraged the incoming Directors of the Gas Resources Hides 4 to focus on bringing back community project’s to their area.

“Through the benefit splits managed by MRDC, there’s a 30% component set aside for community infrastructure.

“Make use of this to bring vital services to your people, you don’t have to wait for the government. We can do it on our own. “I am assuring you today that my district administration is prepared to work in partnership with you to deliver services to Hides”
